Inland Cutter Service > About Inland Cutter Service
In 2008 the economy hit a low point forcing a local company to lay off many of its valuable and faithful staff. Faced with no possibility of employment and not wanting to tax the already overburdened state unemployment system, Duane Kirish launched a new business dedicated to quality technical service and support for the bindery and graphics industry.
The founder Duane Kirish was born in 1952 during the Korean War. His Korean mother was a refugee and his American father was a soldier fighting to preserve Korea's fledgling democracy. For five years Duane and his mother scrapped out a meager existence during desperate times on the Korean Peninsula. Finally, after contracting TB and suffering from malnutrition and infested with intestinal parasites, Duane's birth mother gave him a chance for life when she sent him to Holt's Orphanage for adoption. Mr. Kirish was adopted and raised in Indiana by Otto and Dorothy Kirish. They taught him the values of honesty, integrity, and a fair day's work. He learned about service to country and faith in something larger than himself. His American parents had both survived the Great Depression and believed that American known how was second to none and could over come any difficulty.
Like Mr. Kirish, Inland Cutter Service Inc. was born during a difficult period of American history. The economy of 2008 was the worse since the Great Depression and rather than sit back and complain about losing his job, Duane Kirish believed that Southern California businesses still believed in the entrepreneurial spirit and a can do attitude. He tested his theory that honesty and integrity still mattered in California and the response was positive and wide reaching.
